For a different slant on the outlaw movie, try 'Utu', a New Zealand film set in the 1870s. Te Wheke, a renegade Maori warrior, is hunted by a British army captain and a vengeful homesteader (armed with two double-barrel shotguns welded together) as he tries to raise a rebellion against colonial rule.
