Did Pol Pot show compassion for the Cambodian people when he instituted an agrarian society?

And outlawed any and all books, parental authority and technology? By not exposing the Cambodian people to technological innovation like ATMs and airport kiosks, did Pol Pot show what a compassionate, job creating man he was? And can his ideas influence our great leader Obama to do the same?
